Fresh Espelette peppers of piment d'Espelette fame, these are rarely found fresh, but are worth the effort to find! Traditionally dried and ground, but these thin-walled peppers are also great for harissa, romesco, etc.
Super-rare and super-delicious, pellegrini beans have a particularly creamy texture when cooked - one of our favorites!
Small tart, sweet fruit that grows inside of husks like tomatillos. The flavor is slightly sweet and tropical with a texture somewhere between a grape and tomato. Fantastic fresh, but also great for preserves, pies, etc.
Tiny melons that looks like miniature watermelons - these are a little under 1" long. Extra-crunchy, these taste like extra-sweet, slighty sour cucumbers.
Monster lobed paste tomato, some weighing nearly a pound each. Rich, hearty flavor that gets even better when roasted. Fairly low liquid content, so great for sauces and pastes.
A crisp succulent with a beautiful texture and clean flavor with a mild salty tang. What looks like drops of dew in the photo is actually part of the leaf itself. Very cool stuff that really elevates seafood dishes!
Fragrant and acidic leaves of tuberous oxalis from the Andean mountains. Also called South American wood sorrel.
A classic Japanese herb with a flavor somewhere between basil and mint.
See below for availability and units. All bunched herbs are generous!
Specialty black Spanish radish, around 4" at full size. Extra-firm texture (closer to kohlrabi) with quite a bit of spiciness. These are winter radishes, meant to be peeled and then cooked/shaved/grated.
